I am a fantasy author living in Utah. In another life I was a historian in the Netherlands. My wife and I have four furry daughters – two of whom are guinea pigs (angels), two of whom are rabbits (angels, but with the impulses of devils).
My debut novel, The Edge of Empire, is a fantasy conspiracy story set in a world where the oceans drain endlessly into a Rift in the center of the world. As navigators master the seas around the Rift and build trade empires that span continents, a greedy merchant and a waning aristocracy threaten to embroil the world in war. Four strangers must try desperately to unravel the brutal murder of a wealthy financier in order to prevent conflict from igniting, only to discover powers lurking behind the scenes with infinite appetites and dark designs.
