I have previously published on criminology and history under the name C.S. Burton, and if you are interested you can read some favorites here (on the history of feminist criminology) or here here (on the importance of gothic style in American criminology).

Even as an academic, my writing was always shaped by a belief that storytelling is one of the most powerful human activities and a fundamental mode of meaning making. My own turn to storytelling is a natural evolution of that belief.
